Production guide

Roll-forward is more than replacing dates

An approved baseline reduces reconstruction work, not review responsibility.

Illustrative controlled document production layers

Choose the correct baseline

Confirm the latest approved package, including relevant amendments and companion files. A downloaded primary HTML file may not contain the complete production baseline.

Map the disclosure changes

Mark unchanged, revised, new and removed sections against current approved source. Review tables, notes, assets and identifiers separately.

Inventory period-bearing objects

Visible dates, cover facts, table columns, contexts and filenames may refer to different periods. Historical dates often remain appropriate.

Review structured-data changes

Accepted taxonomy versions, deprecations and extensions require specialist assessment. Revalidate facts and relationships rather than assuming a prior accepted filing remains suitable.

Scope and primary reference

Educational production guidance only. Client disclosure approval, legal/accounting judgement, qualified tagging review and filing authority remain separate. Confirm the appropriate qualified review and current requirements for each live assignment.

Reference: Current official SEC guidance. Verify the current requirements for the agreed job.
